The highlight, without a doubt, is the Churros. - Chocolate Caliente: Available in both 250 ml and 500 ml, this hot chocolate is made to be savored. Many customers agree it perfectly complements the churros - not too sweet, just blissfully indulgent.
- Remarkable Convenience: Whether you choose to sit down for a leisurely experience, takeout, or enjoy the outdoor seating, San Ginés accommodates all preferences. They even offer delivery for those who prefer to enjoy their treats from the comfort of home.
- Unique Offerings: For chocolate aficionados, the selection of chocolates and spreads—ranging from creamy milk chocolate to decadent dark chocolate spreads—should not be missed.

This place is pure organized chaos. We were in line when a guy appeared out of nowhere and asked, "To go or sit down?" We said sit, he said "How many?" We said 3, and he zipped us down the street to another shop with the same name. I looked around and realized every shop in the square had the same name. Inside, we ordered, got a receipt, and were told to wait outside. Outside, everyone was just standing there, confused like us. While my family stood around, I went back to the first shop, found some tables, and asked a worker to seat us. He sent me to a line, and two minutes later--boom, we had a table. Once seated, the churros arrived. Crispy, sugar-free, and paired with rich chocolate that wasn't too sweet--perfection. It was the right amount for three of us. Would I recommend it? Absolutely, despite the scavenger hunt!

Saw this on somebody feed Phil and multiple you tube videos. Lives up to the hype. The churros are quickly served and were not piping hot but I think they basically serve as a medium to dip in the delicious hot chocolate. Quick service, order at the counter right when you enter and either sit (eat in) or wait (takeout). Service was very quick. Chocolate was very thick and sweet enough. I thought it was weird that the churros weren't covered in sugar and cinnamon like the ones in Mexico but the it didn't need it. The Porras are huge but I would skip them unless you want a fun picture. The small churros are much better. Very loud inside on a Friday night at 1AM. Glad they were open because it was my only free chance to try it during my quick trip to Madrid. Highly recommend.

Chocolateria San Gines was great! My friends and I traveled to Spain during the rainy season and having a warm churro with chocolate was amazing! Fast service! Great ambiance!

I tried both chocolaterías in Madrid near Plaza del Sol but San Ginés was so much better that I forgot the name of the other one. I especially appreciate the simplicity of the chocolate caliente y churros combo--it's kinda like the beignets and café au lait of New Orleans. Lines can be super long so just try different times of day. I went as soon as they opened once and another time when the line was out the door, I found the walk up counter right across the street. The portions are perfect bc they are meant to be a treat not a whole meal. Churros are crispy and hold their shape after dipping. They are not covered in sugar bc the chocolate is supposed to be the dominant flavor. It was a lovely way to experience a little traditional Spanish treat. I went on to try other shops in Barcelona and even in Toledo. Café Ginés was by far the best of all. Enjoy!

Stopped by the must-visit churro and chocolate place during my Madrid trip and had a decent time. The churros were great (no cinnamon sugar which must be American) and the chocolate was served thick and warm. Also pretty affordable (5.90 euros for 6 churros and chocolate) The inside was decorated well and filled with fun pictures of celebrities who visited, but there was not very much seating at all, waited at least 40 minutes for a table after ordering the food to sit and eat. Not sure if it was worth it tbh. Ambiance was alright, everyone in there had been waiting a while for a table and were getting a little impatient and annoyed after a bit. Overall: worth it if you love chocolate, waiting time during the day is no joke and I know they're open late so would recommend visiting and taking your time late night after dinner!

The line for this spot was absolutely CRAZY and would stretch well out the door. Luckily I got there during a slower time and the line moved quickly. Because I was a party of one, I was able to snag a small table reasonably quickly. You tell them when you finally get in the building how many are in your party and they tell you where to sit. There is a relatively small upstairs and downstairs where the bathrooms are. I ordered their classic hot chocolate and churros. It was the perfect amount for me and it was delicious. I was able to finish it all and not feel overly full.

San Gines is a must try experience in Madrid. There are about 5 stores within walking distance of each other and the original location. Churros are a Madrid staple. Many locals eat them for breakfast but they can be eaten at any time of the day or year. San Gines is the most popular chocolatería in Madrid. Therefore, the line can be long at all times of the day. Be sure to wait! The line moves quickly and the table seating usually moves around. By the time you get your order, you'll find a spot to eat your delicious churros. Be sure to dunk your churros in your chocolate and enjoy!
